Publication Ethics
Jurnal Komunika Review: Jurnal Sosial, Media, Komunikasi, dan Penyiaran Islam (Islamic Social, Media, Communication, and Broadcasting Journal) is committed to upholding ethical standards in academic publications to ensure that all published articles maintain high academic integrity and originality. This journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for managing publication ethics. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editorial team members, are expected to fully comply with our policies regarding publication ethics and publication misuse, and to respect the following statement:
Ethical Guidelines for Editors
- Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit. Editors must not use unpublished information from personal research without the express written consent of the author.
- Editors must ensure that each manuscript submitted to the journal is evaluated for its intellectual content without regard to gender, race, religion, citizenship, or other background of the authors.
- Editors must maintain the integrity of the publication review process. Therefore, editors must not disclose the identities of authors to reviewers or the identities of reviewers to authors.
- Editors must ensure that all information related to submitted manuscripts is kept confidential until publication.
Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
- Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except with the permission of the editor.
- Reviewers should not have any conflicts of interest related to the research, the authors, or the funding of the research.
- Reviews should be conducted as objectively as possible. Personal criticism of the authors is unacceptable. Reviewers should present their views clearly and support them with arguments.
- If a reviewer feels unable to complete the review of a manuscript within the allotted time, they should notify the editor so that the manuscript can be sent to another reviewer.
Ethical Guidelines for Authors
- Authors should ensure that they have worked entirely original, and if they have used the work or words of others, appropriate acknowledgement must be given. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
- Authors should ensure that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
- Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. The corresponding author should ensure that all relevant co-authors are included and that no inappropriate co-authors are included. All co-authors must have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
- If any author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in the manuscript, they must promptly report it to the editor. If the editor or publisher is notified by a third party that a published work contains a significant error, the author is obligated to promptly retract or correct the paper or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original work.
Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Prevention
This journal rejects all forms of plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Each manuscript will be checked using plagiarism detection software before proceeding to the peer review stage. Articles with a similarity level above 15% will be returned to the author for revision or rejection.
